Hello guys, hope you're good!
Today's post is related to the corset cover I made for myself. I used a guide pattern that I found on the internet from a shirtwaist and that helped me make the corset cover.
This image is already showing how the mold should look, I needed some measurements.
Since this pattern shows half the front and half the back, you need the following measurements:
1) measure from the middle of the waist to the side.
2) measure the length of the shoulder to the tip of the shoulder.
3) measure a part of the armhole, as shown in the photo.
4) measure from the shoulder to the neck to the height you want from the neckline.
Having these measurements you will be drawing on paper and trying to match the pattern, you will basically just add your measurements.
You will need a ruler and the French curve to make the armhole and neckline.
* It may be that it gets big or small, just make the changes while seeing your body.
The fabric I used was cambric but you can use linen too.
Sewing instructions:
1) I sewed the sides and shoulders.
2)On the front you can put lace, embroidery and ruffles.
*I put on a ruffle, cut a piece of cambric slightly larger than the measure I took from the middle of the waist to the side. And then I basted and pulled the thread and made the frown.
3)I sewed on the front!
4) Finally just put hooks and eyes or if you want you could even put a zipper, you decide!
That's it!! It was pretty easy, wasn't it?
If you make one too tag me on instagram, I'll love to see it!
