Hiii guys, how are you?
Today I'm making an Edwardian Corset using Black Snail Patterns "Edwardian Straight Front Corset". I really liked it, if you are a beginner like me, you will probably like it too, as the instructions are very easy to follow.
1) I took my measurements and found them in the mold.
2) it is necessary to make a mock up before making the final corset.
3) the mock up was too big, so I reduced the mold and then I could cut the mold on the final fabric.
4) I used twill, because I didn't find where I live here in Brazil the coutil fabric that would be ideal.
5)Put everything together and sewed.
6) The busk I had to ask for in São Paulo because where I live it doesn't sell.
7) If you want a video teaching how to put the busk, I can do it.
8) I put the grosgrain ribbon at the waist line.
9) I put satin ribbon in the channels of the plastic whalebones.
10) After putting the plastic bones in place
11) I fitted the eyelets.
12) And finally the cord.
The corset is ready. Would you wear it? I felt very comfortable wearing it, the first time I made and wore one. Yaaaay!! So excited!!!
Thank you for reading!
See you next Saturday!
